Who We Are
Twin Tiers Young Professionals is a diverse group of young professionals - of all ages - living in the greater
Elmira/Corning, NY area. Our goal is to provide opportunities to interact socially and to network, as well as to
provide a chance for our members to become involved in their communities. We feel TTYP can help make the Twin Tiers
a place our members are happy to call home.
Our Vision
The
Corning Museum of Glass, Finger Lakes wine trails,
Watkins Glen International, The Clemens Center,
The Rockwell Museum of Western Art, The Arnot Art Museum. These are just a few of the attractions that make our area one
of the top three tourist destinations in New York State. There is always something going on somewhere in
the Twin Tiers, and we strive to promote the area and the great events taking place here to the young
professional community.
What We Do
TTYP holds numerous events both to promote the area and help make it a nice place to live. Civic events have
included: remodeling a house with Habitat For Humanity, Downtown Cleanup, Be Pink, Race For The Cure, and the
Hunger Challenge at the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. We also organize social events, including our ‘Third
Thursday’ social and a monthly Wine Club at one of our member’s homes. TTYP also fields sports teams, including
in summer softball and winter broomball leagues.
How We Do It
We are a member-driven, nonprofit organization. All projects are conceived, planned and carried out by our members.
Our projects typically fall into two major categories: Social Events and Community Outreach. The organization
is guided by the Executive Committee, which administers the day-to-day operation of the group.
So Join Us!
We don’t ask a lot of our members. Find events that fit your needs, whether they be social, communuty outreash,
or both. Invite others to participate as well. Membership is simple (we don’t have an age limit, and we don’t
turn anyone away). Simply fill out the TTYP Membership Form and return it to us by mail with the annual membership
fee. This fee allows us to defray administrative costs such as postage, advertising, attracting new members and
hosting events.
